New Delhi: The chilling cold that is wreaking havoc in Delhi continues. The cold wave is expected to continue for the next two days. Delhi's minimum temperature has been recorded at 3 degrees today. Right from the morning, a sheet of fog has enveloped the capital.

The India Meteorological Department has warned that cold to severe cold conditions can have serious health effects, which should not be ignored. Many diseases such as the flu, stuffy nose or haemorrhage and tremor are increased, which is the first sign of losing body heat. Prolonged exposure to extreme cold can lead to illness, causing the skin to become pale, hard, and numb, and eventually, black blisters appear on exposed body parts such as fingers, toes, nose, or earrings. Severe frostbite requires immediate treatment.

Cold waves occur in the plains when the minimum temperature is 10 ° C or below and/or 4.5 ° below normal for two consecutive days. The cold wave is also declared when the minimum temperature is below 4 ° C in the plains.
