Lucknow:Asim Raja will be the candidate from Samajwadi Party (SP) in the Raampur Lok Sabha by-election. Azam Khan announced the name of the candidate among the workers at sp office Darul Awam. Earlier, there was talk that sp may field Azam Khan's wife Tanzeen Fatima from Rampur. Asim Raja is the SP city chief from Rampur. They will file their nominations today itself.
It may be mentioned that rampur and azamgarh lok sabha seats are going to polls on June 23. The results will be released after The Magna on June 26. Azamgarh seat fell vacant after Akhilesh Yadav and Rampur seat fell vacant after Azam Khan resigned as Lok Sabha member. Both the leaders had resigned from the Lok Sabha after registering victory in the UP Assembly elections. Akhilesh Yadav has been elected mla from Karhal seat in Mainpuri while Azam Khan has been elected mla from Rampur.
Let us know that the SP candidate for Azamgarh Lok Sabha by-election has been cleared on the last day of nomination. The SP opened its cards in this regard on Monday. Saifai family member and former Badaun MP Dharmendra Yadav has been fielded by the party in azamgarh lok sabha by-election. Earlier, there was talk of sp chief Akhilesh Yadav's wife and former MP Dimple Yadav being fielded from the seat.
