Covid-19 situation in state is under control: Sikkim CM PS Golay

Gangtok: Sikkim Chief Minister PS Golay has recently made a statement. In this statement, he said, "The situation of Covid-19 in the state is under control and there is nothing to panic about. In fact, CM Golay made the statement after attending a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Shillong." He recently attended a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Shillong. During this time, he discussed a number of issues.

Talking to reporters after the meeting, Chief Minister PS Golay said, "There is nothing to panic about. We were challenged by the second wave of epidemics. But we are able to deal with it." However, the Sikkim CM's statement comes at a time when the Himalayan state is still detecting cases at a positivity rate of more than 10 per cent.

Till last Saturday, there were 2849 active Covid-19 cases in Sikkim. In fact, while Sikkim recorded 225 cases at a positivity rate of 11.4 per cent, the state's recovery rate was only 87 per cent. Among all this, the death toll from Covid-19 in Sikkim is currently 330.
