World number one Novak Djokovic is set to defend his title at the Wimbledon tennis tournament despite not being vaccinated against the coronavirus as vaccination is not required to enter Britain. All England Club chief executive Sally Bolton released this information on Tuesday.

Djokovic, 34, from Serbia, was kicked out of Australia in January this year for not being vaccinated and missed the Australian Open. Wimbledon is scheduled to begin on June 27. Djokovic failed to defend his title at the Australian Open and was forced to leave the country after legal troubles that lasted 11 days.

After which he also did not play in tournaments like Indian Wells and Miami because no foreign national has been allowed to enter the US who has not been vaccinated. The American Tennis Association has said that it will have to follow government rules related to corona virus vaccination for the US Open, which starts in late August.
