New Delhi: Controversy and debate are going on all over the country regarding Hijab. People are reacting differently to the hijab controversy. Now in this case, Pakistani Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai has said that not allowing girls to enter schools wearing hijab is appalling. Tweeting on the matter, Malala Yousafzai wrote that, 'It is appalling to stop girls wearing hijab from entering schools. Women are objectified for wearing more or less clothes. Indian leaders should stop marginalizing Muslim women.

Let us tell you that this entire controversy started from Mahatma Gandhi Memorial College in Manipal, Udupi, Karnataka. Some girls here had alleged that they were not allowed to enter the college campus and class because of wearing hijab. After this, similar cases also came up in Kundapur and some other colleges of Bindoor. There have been several incidents in the state where Muslim girl students are not being allowed to attend colleges or classes in hijab. At the same time, many students are reaching educational institutions with saffron shawls in protest against the hijab.

In view of the hijab controversy, the state government has made uniforms mandatory in all schools and colleges of Karnataka. The Karnataka High Court is hearing about whether hijab can be worn in schools and colleges. The High Court has urged the students and the general public to maintain peace and harmony amid the growing hijab controversy in different parts of the state. After hearing a petition filed by some girl students studying in the Government Pre-University Women's College in the coastal city of Udupi, the court said it would now hear further on Wednesday.
