Bhopal: The Supreme Court has ordered Panchayat and urban body elections in Madhya Pradesh without OBC reservation. Politics has intensified in the state after the order of the Supreme Court. In fact, the issue of OBC reservation in local elections in Madhya Pradesh has been a constant part of the controversy, due to which the local elections are pending for more than a year here. Hearing the matter on Tuesday, the Supreme Court said that the Constitution provides for holding elections every five years, so the elections cannot be delayed. Along with this, the Supreme Court also commented on OBC reservation. The Supreme Court said that any political party which is in favor of OBC is free to field OBC candidates in all the seats. The Supreme Court said that due to incomplete report submitted by the government, OBC category will not get reservation in elections in the state. Therefore, now the local elections will be held only with 36 percent reservation. In this, 20 percent reservation will be given to ST and 16 percent to SC.
