In the view of the scarcity of the job in Nagaland, the state opposition leader TR Zeliang today urged people to explore the alternative source of income as government jobs. He Inaugurating the Jalukie Pungchi village in Jalukie sub-division under Peren district.A special number by Nangkamlak Pame, folk dance by Jalukie Students’ Union and a special dance by Gorkha Baptist Church Fellowship were some of the highlights of the inaugural programme.
Inaugurating the Jalukie Pungchi village in Jalukie sub-division under Peren district, Zeliang asked people to take up sustainable farming and plantation to gain extra income. He said Jalukie Pungchi village is amongst the largest in terms of area amongst other villages at Jalukie while noting that the village has the potential to become like an urban settlement.
He also urged village authority to make a strategy in order to make it a model village with well-planned roads, drainage.
Asking the Jalukie valley people to work hard, he said the valley can be the next “Punjab of Nagaland” and can hold the economy of the State. Zeliang also urged the landowners not to sell their land for short-term relief and instead protect and preserve it for future generations. He also unveiled the monolith at Peren district welcome gate.
