The National Skills Development Corporation (NSDC) has tied up with California State University Long Beach (CSULB) to offer over 200 free courses for skill seekers in India. As part of the partnership, the CSULB Skills Commons platform and MERLOT will also be integrated into eSkillindia.org to promote e-learning among the country’s youth.

CSULB and eSkillIndia will initially add courses in areas such as health, management, information technology, finance, employability and more. Particular emphasis will be placed on continuing education courses for trainers. Classes will last between two and 30 hours and will offer a total of 900 hours of digital content, the NSDC announced.

eSkillIndia – NSDC’s Digital Skills Initiative – currently offers more than 825 digital courses from its partners. More than 4,000 courses are connected through affiliate channels in various sectors and in various languages.

Dr. Manish Kumar, NSDC CEO and CEO, comments on the initiative: “E-learning paves the way for digital transformation. The NSDC facilitates the acquisition of skills online, harnessing the immense potential of young people to take advantage of existing and emerging opportunities. “

“Partnering with NSDC’s eSkill India digital skills initiative to develop skilled labor employment in the 21st century is at the core of our mission. By providing free and easy access to industry-focused educational materials, NSDC and California State University Long Beach are able to bring online learning for everyone and improve the well-being of everyone, ”said Dr. Gerard L. Hanley, Principal Executive of California State University (SkillsCommons) and MERLOT.
