New Delhi: Union Minister Smriti Irani flagged off the National Security Guard's (NSG) all-India car rally 'Sudarshan Bharat Parikrama' (SBP) on Saturday, (October 30) after it arrived in New Delhi after a one month journey covering 7,500 kilometres.

On the occasion of the 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' (75th Anniversary of Independent India) being held across India to mark the 75th year of Independence, the rally, which was flagged off by Union Home Minister Amit Shah from Red Fort on October 2, passed through various historical places associated with the freedom movement and freedom fighters.

The NSG's car rally visited historic sites such as the Kakori Memorial in Lucknow, the Bharat Mata Mandir in Varanasi, Netaji Bhawan Barrackpore in Kolkata, Swaraj Ashram in Bhubaneswar, Tilak Ghat in Chennai, Freedom Park in Bengaluru, Mani Bhawan and August Kranti Maidan in Mumbai, and Sabarmati Ashram in Bhubaneswar (Ahmedabad). The car rally drew a total of 12 NSG officers and 35 commandos.
