Madhya Pradesh: The indefinite strike, which has been active on since June 30, under the banner of M.P. Nurses Association, has ended after the order of the High Court. In view of the health services being affected, a public interest litigation was filed in the Jabalpur Bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court by Citizens Consumer Guidance Forum. Hearing the petition on Wednesday, the High Court ordered the nurses from across the State to return to work from Thursday.

The state president of the association said that all the nurses of the state would return to work from today, respecting the court order. The nurses of Madhya Pradesh, who have been protesting since May 12 for their 12-point demands, had started the indefinite strike accusing the government of breach of promise.

Apart from this, the court has also asked the Government not to cut the salary of the nurses for the number of days they were absent from duty. The court has asked the government to form a 4-member committee with the membership of the Director Health-Finance Secretary to resolve the issues, which will take a decision after considering the demands of the nurses in a month.
