Gujarat Governor Shri OP Kohli welcomed PM Narendra Modi to the airport Of Gujarat. The Prime Minister is to attend the oath-taking ceremony of the newly formed Council of Ministers of the Gujarat Government.

Vijay Rupani, 61, will swear in as Gujarat Chief Minister in the state capital Gandhinagar at 11 this morning, in a ceremony that will be the twin as a huge show of power by the BJP. Prime Minister Narendra Modi who landed in Gandhinagar, is welcomed by party chief Amit Shah and all the BJP's chief ministers. Key BJP ally Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar will also attend the ceremony along with his deputy Sushil Kumar Modi. 

The oath - ceremony will take place at 11 am.

On December 23, A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) higher ranking leaders took a visit to Governor OP Kohli here and stake claim to make a government in Gujarat.

Vijay Rupani was declared as the Chief Minister of Gujarat by BJP On December 22; it was also affirmed that Nitin Patel will carry on as the Deputy Chief Minister of the state.

On December 21 Vijay Rupani, Nitin Patel, and other ministers had put forward their resignation to Governor Kohli, days after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) marked a win in the Gujarat assembly Polls.

The BJP won the prestigious- Polls for 182-seats in Gujarat Assembly, claiming a clear majority of 99 seats.

The Congress Party grabbed 77 seats, followed by the Bharatiya Tribal Party (two) and NCP (one), whereas independent candidates won three seats.

Vijay Rupani registered a comfortable triumph from Rajkot West seat by 1, 31,586 votes, that is the biggest constituency in the Saurashtra area. (NT)
