Bhubaneswar: Odisha's Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik, and Union Minister Arjun Munda have conveyed their heartfelt congratulations to the dedicated team behind the Chandrayaan mission, marking a significant achievement for India on the global stage. The triumphant lunar landing endeavor has garnered attention from political figures who recognize the prowess of ISRO scientists in executing the momentous Chandrayaan-3 venture.

Naveen Patnaik, the Chief Minister of Odisha, expressed his admiration, stating, "This is an extraordinary scientific milestone for India. My wholehearted congratulations go out to the exceptional group of scientists and experts who contributed to this historic mission." Through his official communication channel on the platform X, previously known as Twitter, he remarked, "A day of historic proportions for #India, as #Chandrayaan3 achieved an unprecedented landing near the South Pole of the #Moon. Navigating uncharted lunar terrain stands as a remarkable accomplishment for Indian scientific expertise and a significant stride for humanity. I extend my felicitations to the diligent scientists at @isro and the entire scientific community who played a pivotal role in this impeccably executed #LunarMission."

Union Minister Arjun Munda also extended his appreciations to the Indian scientific community for the triumphant landing of Chandrayaan-3. He highlighted, "The culmination of this triumph is attributed to the unwavering commitment of our scientific fraternity. Today, we can take immense pride in our nation's accomplishment, solidifying our position among the select nations that have attained such a momentous feat."

Simultaneously, the lunar rover of India's Chandrayaan-3 embarked on its exploration of the unexplored lunar terrain on Thursday morning. The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) revealed through the platform X, previously referred to as Twitter, that the spacecraft's historic touchdown on the moon's southern pole was achieved the prior evening, positioning India as the pioneer in this endeavor. ISRO conveyed, "The Ch-3 Rover gracefully descended from the Lander, marking India's stride on the lunar surface. Stay tuned for further updates."

The first image of the six-wheeled robotic vehicle named Pragyan, disembarking from Vikram, was shared by Pawan K Goenka, the chairman of the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Centre. This autonomous agency operates within the Department of Space (DOS), serving as a single-window nodal agency. The Lunar Lander and the Rover, both designed for a mission duration of one lunar day (equivalent to 14 Earth days), carry scientific payloads to conduct experiments on the lunar expanse. Notable payloads of the Rover include the 'Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscope' (LIBS) and the 'Alpha Particle X-ray Spectrometer' (APXS). The LIBS will facilitate qualitative and quantitative elemental analysis, contributing to our comprehension of chemical and mineralogical composition, thus advancing our knowledge of the lunar surface.
