Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Tuesday reduced the maximum fee for corona investigation in private laboratories to the RT-PCR system to Rs 1,200. On July 3, the state government had fixed a maximum fee of Rs 2,200 for corona testing by RT-PCR system in private laboratories. The officer said that in order to increase the investigation in the state, the examination fee has been reduced by 1 thousand rupees.

He further said that initially four thousand to 4,500 rupees were used for getting corona tested in private laboratories. In a notification by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, it was said that after thinking carefully the government has rescheduled the maximum fee of Rs 1,200 (including GST and other charges) for the RT-PCR examination of Corona. Significantly, the Indian Council of Medical Sciences and Research (ICMR) has authorized 4 private laboratories in the state for corona examination. All these laboratories are located in the capital Bhubaneswar.

The corona figures in the state are increasing rapidly. In Odisha, 2,752 new cases of corona have been reported, after which the total number of patients in the state has increased to 84,231. At the same time, after the death of 9 more people due to this dangerous infection, the number of dead has increased to 428. At the same time, an officer of the health department said that 2 of the 9 patients who lost their lives due to corona are from Ganjam and Sundergarh.
