Naveen Patnaik led Odisha Government has decided to fill up 972 direct payment (DP) posts of lecturers in different subjects in the non-government aided colleges. The State Higher Education Department has asked in a letter, the State Selection Board (SSB) to begin the recruitment process as soon as possible.
The candidates belonging to PWD/ex-servicemen /sportspersons quota (4%, 1% and 1% respectively) shall be adjusted against the subjects and categories to which they belong. Out of 4% reservations for persons with disabilities (PWD), one per cent reservation shall be allocated for women with disabilities. The exchange of reservation between Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (ST) shall not be considered, states the letter. The unfilled reservation for women candidates in each category shall be filled up by eligible/suitable male candidate(s) of the same category In case of non-availability of eligible/suitable women candidates(s) belonging to the respective categories, the letter stated.
Masters Degree in the subject concerned from a recognised university with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade is the requisite which is 50% for the SC, ST, Socially and Educationally Backward Castes (SEBC) and PWD. The selection shall be made in the following successive stages: Career – 25 Marks, Written – 150 Marks, Viva-voce – 25 Marks and the grand Total – 200 Marks. The number of candidates shall be called for an interview by SSB equal to three times the number of vacancies in any subject if the number of vacancies is between above 5 and below 100. 40% written exam marks is eligible for the interview which is 30% for ST/SC/SCBC/PWD candidates. Age limit for General category is 21 years and maximum age shall be 42 years as on May 31, 2021, 5 year relaxed for SC, ST and SEBC candidates and for women 10 year relaxation.
