Bhubaneswar: Odisha registered 565 new cases of coronavirus infection on Wednesday, taking the total cases of the covid epidemic to 10,25,874. With this, five more patients lost their lives due to the epidemic, bringing the death toll to 8,192. An official of the health department has informed in this regard.

In Odisha, more than 3 crore doses of the corona vaccine have been administered so far, out of which more than 82 lakh beneficiaries have been given both doses. State CM Naveen Patnaik tweeted, "It is heartening to note that Odisha has achieved another milestone in the battle against Covid-19 by giving more than 3 crore doses of vaccine. Appreciate the hard work and commitment of our health workers for rapid immunization to save lives.''

State that vaccination was started in Odisha on 16th January this year and it is planned to vaccinate all by 31st December. An official said, out of the 4.5 crore population of the state, the government has set a target of vaccinating 3.09 crore people aged 18 years and above.
