Odisha: One Dead after a Bus Carrying Migrants Collides Head-On With Truck

Khurda: A truck driver died after a bus carrying migrant workers from Kerala’s Kannur met with an accident on NH 16 near Tangi Bypass in Odisha’s Khurda district on Thursday morning.

Due to some road construction work near Tangi, the bus and the truck coming from the opposite direction had to take the same route. According to sources, the impact of the head-on collision with a truck was such that the bus was pushed 40 feet back over a divider. While the passengers escaped with minor injuries, the driver of the truck died in the accident.

Such was the impact of the collision that the bus was pushed back for nearly 40 ft. While the passengers of the bus escaped with minor to severe injuries, the truck driver died on the spot.

Tangi Police rushed to the spot and after rescuing the passengers, sent them to their respective destinations in another bus. A probe was also initiated into the matter.
