Bhubaneshwar: The Odisha Skill Conclave will be held in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, from April 20–22, 2023. The three-day event aspires to establish Odisha as a global skill hub and pave the way for a better future for the state's residents and others. At a curtain-raiser event held yesterday, representatives of the State Government disclosed the information. 

Pritiranjan Gharai, Minister of State (Independent Charge), Skill Development & Technical Education Department, Government of Odisha, said the following in his keynote address: "The nation must witness a "New Odisha" at this moment. We want to prepare the youth for the macroeconomic issues and geopolitical risks they will confront through the Odisha Skill Conclave. 

The Odisha Skill Conclave will be interactive, allowing students, training partners, and businesses to mingle and have fruitful discussions. We are eager to sign Memorandums of Understanding with numerous corporations so they can meet their demand for bolstering their workforces."

Subroto Bagchi, the government of Odisha's chairman of the Odisha Skill Development Authority, said: "With the occurrence of this event, the state would go from leadership to thought leadership in skilling. This event serves as a platform to unite the entire planet in addition to exhibiting our abilities. 

The OSDA is focusing on the concept of inclusion via gender in 2023, and we anticipate active involvement from young people, which will help to further the idea of equality in education and employment." Usha Padhee, the government of Odisha's principal secretary for the department in charge of skill development and technical education, spoke at the event "The Odisha Skill Conclave is not just for Odisha; we also hope to showcase the state on a global stage because we have created a robust ecosystem for it. 

This event must be a celebration with talent at its core and it must inspire young people. With that goal in mind, we anticipate active participation and advancing the state's standing as a thought leader based on our knowledge of this industry."

"FICCI is happy to be part with the programme 'Skilling in Odisha,'" stated Pankaj Kumar Satija, Chair-FICCI Odisha State & Managing Director, Tata Steel Mines Company. "We think that training and education in many industries would offer numerous future chances." Reghu G, Director of Technical Education & Training, Government of Odisha, gave a vote of gratitude to end the event.
A video on the World Skills Centre, Odisha, was showcased during the event to the audience which depicted the facilities of the centre that contribute to the high-end skill training including upskilling and entrepreneurship programmes, among various other opportunities.

The main objective of the event will be to improve the state's human resource potential and opportunities by providing all socioeconomic groups with high-quality, affordably priced, and easily accessible technical and vocational education and skill development training.

The conclave will witness a number of upcoming conferences, exhibitions, demonstrations, MoUs, and cultural events in addition to providing a wealth of chances for the state's talented workforce. Top executives from business, academia, and international organisations will attend, as well as ambassadors for skills and state representatives from partner nations. The Government of Odisha's Skill Development & Technical Education Department, the Odisha Skill Development Authority (OSDA), and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), the industry partner, held the curtain-raiser event.
