Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir) - Offline registrations for the annual Amarnath Yatra have started, with the pilgrimage set to begin on June 29.

Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) South Jammu, Manu Hansa, announced that the offline registrations commenced on Wednesday. Pilgrims are required to present their Aadhar Cards to receive tokens, which they must then take to the registration centers.

The three registration centers for the Yatra are located at Vaishnavi Dham, Mahajan Hall, and Panchayat Bhavan. According to the SDM, "We have started our offline registrations here at the Saraswati Dham. The registrations are being done based on the Aadhar Cards after which the pilgrims are being given tokens. They then have to go to the registration centers."

He added, "We have received 1,000 registrations for the June 29 visit. The three offline registration centers are located in Vaishnavi Dham, Mahajan Hall, and Panchayat Bhavan."

The SDM also emphasized that certain restrictions are in place for pilgrims: "No pilgrim below the age of 13, or above the age of 70, and no pregnant women beyond six weeks will be allowed. Pilgrims should either bring a health certificate or get their health check-ups done during registration."

The Sri Amarnath Shrine Board will release a daily quota of pilgrims. The official stated, "We are aiming to complete at least 2,000 registrations today. Those who have completed their registrations online do not have to come here."

To assist pilgrims, help desks have been set up in waiting areas. "Six token centers, water filters, and a dining hall are provided to assist all our pilgrims and ensure a smooth registration process," said the SDM.
