The next Olivia Wilde-directed film Don't Worry Darling is surrounded by unending drama as rumours about the tense dynamics of the ensemble are reported more frequently than movie trailers, but the most recent testimonial by the on-set cinematographer, Matthew Libatique, has dispelled all rumours. The crewmate was frank in his discussion of the movie and the rumours during a recent appearance on The Hollywood Reporter podcast.
In the conversation, Matthew revealed via Page Six, "When I hear that there are rumours of acrimony on the set — I reject it. It wasn’t apparent at all, to be honest." As he continued, he said that the rumours were untrue and more fiction than fact, "From my standpoint, the stories are completely untrue when it comes to being on set." Though he also admitted, "I can’t speak to post-production at all."
Libatique further explained, "Whatever happened, it happened way after I left … I was never witness to anything. And I didn’t feel anything. You know, you get a feeling that there might be something going on and I didn’t feel anything." he only had good things to say about the director, adding that Olivia Wilde "believed in each and everybody on the set."
The actress was observed making few comments about the movie and had scarcely promoted it on social media, which led viewers to conclude that something was up between Wilde and her castmate and leading lady Florence Pugh. Fans on the Internet continue to be doubtful despite Wilde's response to the rumours and denial that there is any chance of a rupture between the two women.
