The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has expanded its partnership with one of the world's leading talent scouting firms in order to better support athletes as they transition from sport to life after sport.
The IOC and The Adecco Group, the world's top employment solutions firm, developed the Athlete365 Career+ initiative a few years ago to help athletes build their professions after retiring from competitive sport. The programme assists them in effectively navigating the hurdles of transitioning from sports to other careers. The agreement ensures that athletes all over the world will receive even more support and help as they transition from sports to everyday life.
The extension of our agreement demonstrates our commitment to assisting athletes at all stages of their lives, said Emma Terho, Chair of the IOC Athletes' Commission. Transitioning into a new career can be difficult, and we are glad to say that Athlete365 Career+ has already helped thousands of athletes overcome this obstacle. We are grateful that The Adecco Group will continue to make its resources available to athletes as they make the transition from playing on the field to working in the workforce, said Emma Terho
In 2005, the IOC and The Adecco Group collaborated on the IOC Athlete Career Programme, which was then known as the IOC Athlete Career Programme. It said, the initiative, now known as Athlete365 Career+, has provided career development materials and training to more than 50,000 athletes since its inception, allowing them to maximise their employment chances.
