Australia plays India away from home to start the last stretch leading up to the T20 World Cup, which they will host later this year. Australia defeated New Zealand in a three-match ODI series by a score of 3-0 and will now host England in a three-match T20I series prior to the commencement of the premier competition when India was competing in the Asia Cup. Australia's Test cricket squad is now travelling to India, according to a snapshot uploaded on fast bowler Pat Cummins' social media accounts.

On September 20, Mohali will host the first game of the series. The second game will take place in Nagpur on September 23, and the third and final game will take place in Hyderabad on September 25.

Australia is on a tour of India after winning the ODI series against New Zealand 3-0 at home. On the trip, the Australian squad will be without a few of its important players, including Mitchell Starc, Mitch Marsh, and Marcus Stoinis. Australia's T20I team will be led by Aaron Finch, who recently announced his retirement from ODI cricket.

On the other hand, with the addition of bowlers Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Shami, and Harshal Patel to the squad, India has fulfilled the missing firepower in its arsenal. Shami will be eager to impress against Australia and establish his case for inclusion in the starting lineup for the world cup.

India is currently ranked first in the globe, while visitors are currently placed sixth. However, given the format, it is anticipated that the series will feature some nail-biting matches and close contests. Tuesday, September 20, will see Mohali host the opening T20I of the series.

Australia will be without three key players for the India tour. Mitch Starc (knee), Mitch Marsh (ankle), and Marcus Stoinis (side) have all been ruled out of the tour, and Nathan Ellis, Daniel Sams, and Sean Abbott have been added to the squad in their place. David Warner was already unavailable since he was provided with a break.

Although the three injuries are minor, Australia has chosen to be cautious ahead of the T20 World Cup, which begins on October 22 when they take on New Zealand at the Sydney Cricket Ground. This is because the India tour requires them to travel to three different cities for each of the three games they will play in India.

Marsh and Stoinis were hurt while playing for Australia in the one-day international series against Zimbabwe and New Zealand in north Queensland, but Starc was obliged to leave the tour after a scan on his knee was done today in Sydney. Prior to the World Cup, Australia will host T20 series against the West Indies and England. Warner, Marsh, Starc, and Stoinis are all expected to be available.
