PM Modi expresses gratitude to frontline worker on Buddha Purnima

Addressing the gathering on the occasion of Vesak Global Function, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his gratitude to frontline health workers, doctors, nurses. I thank these frontline workers who risked their lives to serve others selflessly due to this deadly epidemic.

He further said that now we have a better understanding of the epidemic which strengthens our plan to fight it. The Prime Minister said that we now have a vaccine which is important for saving lives and defeating the epidemic. India is proud of our scientists who have worked on #COVID19 vaccine. In a virtual address, the Prime Minister said that corona is the biggest threat to humanity in years. He said today that after corona, the world will not be the same and the current events will be remembered later.

Delivering the keynote address on the occasion of "Virtual Vesak Global Celebration" on Buddha Purnima, he said the world has not seen such an epidemic in a century. He also expressed condolences to those who have lost their loved ones in the epidemic. At the end of the address, he once again said, "I once again salute my frontline health workers, doctors, nurses, who risk their lives to selflessly serve others who have lost their loved ones. I extend my condolences to all of them"
