Amravati: The Amravati police in Maharashtra have arrested a widow's lover for allegedly killing her. The deceased woman was a resident of Akoli Jehangir in Akot tehsil of Akola district. She had been missing since February. The complaint was lodged at Akot police station. According to the news received, on April 4, 2022, some forest employees were patrolling in Khatkali forest under the Chikhaldara police station area. During this, they saw a human skull and some other things.

Thereafter, the police were informed. Police rushed to the spot immediately. Some parts of the human body and clothes were found there. After this, the police sent all the evidence to the forensic lab for examination. The woman was not identified while investigating the case. However, after enquiring at the police stations on the campus and seeing a missing person's complaint. This led the police to know that a woman had been missing at the Akot town police station since February. On that basis, the police informed the family members. Then the woman's son's DNA was sent for a forensic scan.  

The forensic lab matched the human skull and the woman's son's DNA. During the investigation, the police reached the culprit. On questioning the woman's son and family members, the police found that they had seen Amol Dharme, a resident of the village, talking to her several times on the phone. When the police questioned Amol in this case, he admitted that he had committed the murder. Chikhaldara police station in-charge Rahul Wadve said the woman had an affair with the criminal after her husband's death and they also had a physical relationship. The woman was also pressuring him to get married. But the criminal was already married. The woman was repeatedly pressuring him for marriage. One day, the woman was taken by the criminal to the forest of Khatkali near Akot for a walk in a car. There he slit her throat and killed her. The woman's skull was found two months after the murder. On the basis of this, the police investigated and on the basis of evidence, the case came to light after 11 months. At present, the culprit has been remanded in police custody by the court till January 7.
