Lucknow: Rahul Gandhi has targeted the statement of MLA Surendra Singh from Ballia in UP. Rahul Gandhi said on Twitter "Men do the raping but women need to be taught good values". Surendra Singh said that to prevent incidents of rape, girls should be taught values. While opposing this, Rahul Gandhi wrote, "This is the filthy RSS male chauvinist mentality at work. Men do the raping but women need to be taught good values".
In response to a question asked about the incident Hathras, BJP MLA Surendra Singh said, "Incidents like these can be stopped with help of good values, Na Shashan Se Na talwar Se. All parents should teach their daughters good values. It's only the combination of govt & good values that can make the country beautiful". He further said, "Just as the government's duty is to provide protection, it is the duty of the family and parents. That they should put Sanskars in their children".
Rahul Gandhi also raised the matter of Hathras gang rape in Punjab rally. He said, "Yesterday I was in UP, there was a daughter who was killed and no action was taken against those who killed and the family whose daughter was killed were locked inside their house. DM threatens them, Chief Minister threatens them, this is the condition of India".
