New Delhi: There has been an outcry in America due to an eye drop from an Indian pharmaceutical company. Three other people in America also lost their lives due to the use of this eye drop. The top medical surveillance agency in the US has expressed concern over the possibility of highly drug-resistant bacteria in this eye drop. The media has given this information, citing the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). According to the report, cases of blindness and dozens of infections have been reported in eight people so far due to the use of this eye drop.

Citing the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the media reported that three people lost their lives after using this eye drop; eight cases of blindness and dozens of infection cases were also found. This eye drop has been manufactured by Chennai-based Global Pharma Healthcare under the brand name Azricare Artificial Tears.

The CDC is very concerned that drug-resistant bacteria found in eye drops imported from India may gain a foothold in the US. Infectious disease experts have said that this strain has not been found in America before. In such a situation, the problem is that it is very difficult to treat it with the existing antibiotics in America.

Let us tell you that Global Pharma Healthcare, located about 40 km south of Chennai, completely stopped the production of eye drops related to the US market in February. It has also decided to voluntarily recall all remaining lots of EzriCare artificial tears and Delsum Pharma's artificial tears at the consumer level.

This is the latest case of Indian eye drops after the deaths of dozens of children due to cough syrup in Gambia and Uzbekistan last year. This has created a stir from America to India. The US Food and Drug Administration has stated that the use of Azricare artificial tears increases the risk of eye infection, which can result in blindness or even death.
