Till now only reports of Facebook and social media data leaks used to appear, but now medical data has also started leaking. The data of about 1 million Indian patients has been leaked, including X-rays, CT scans and doctor's reports. The same has been revealed by Germany's security firm Greenbone Networks. According to a report by a media reporter, the data on the Internet contains information such as the name of the patient, date of birth, e-mail, the name of the hospital, the name of the doctor seeing the patient. A screenshot of the data leak has also surfaced, which is quite blurred at the moment.

This data leak includes data from Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai and Utkarsh Scan. All these data are present on a website from where anyone can download them. The report states that the server on which these data is kept is not secure. In fact, for medical practice, a special file format is called Digital Imaging and Communication in Medicines (DICOM). Medical-related photos are shared and stored in this format. DICOM is stored on a Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) server.

The report said that this server has been broken because this server was not secure. Apart from this, the photos of the patients report on this server are without the password. While after this report came out, Breach Candy Hospital has said that the data of the patients is included with SSL certification. With this, a spokesperson of the hospital said that the leaked data has not been stolen from the hospital's server. The server of the hospital cannot be accessed without a password. Utkarsh Scan has not yet given any statement on this data leak. At the same time, the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has also not given any answer.
