New Delhi: Just a year before the coronavirus, PM Modi announced a lockdown in the country at 8 pm on March 23. Almost all necessary means, including railways, airplanes, shops, buses, factories, and thousands of companies, had to be closed and people were imprisoned in the houses. That is, a move, India was suddenly stopped. When the lockdown was implemented, there were 500 cases of corona in the country, which has now been 1,17,34,058. Out of this, 3 lakh 68 thousand 457 active cases are there. More than 5 crore people have been given corona vaccine doses after the vaccine came.

Lockdown a year ago:-

1- When the lockdown was first announced, there were only 500 corona cases in the country and 50 people died due to covid-19. According to data from the Union Health Ministry, the infection figure has risen to 11.73 million today. The death toll has reached 1,60,441.

2- It was a nationwide lockdown, under which all were banned except essential services. All establishments, including private, commercial, educational, and government, were asked to remain closed.

3- The lockdown had slowed down the rate of epidemic growth. Before the first phase of the lockdown, the doubling rate of covid-19 cases was 3 days, doubling every 6.2 days by April 18, 2020.

4- On April 15 last year, the lockdown was extended for the next 19 days. Till 17th May, it was extended again for 14 days. The last phase of the lockdown continued for 14 days till May 31. After which the lockdown was opened in a phased manner.
