Veteran lyricist-writer Javed Akhtar says only he can translate the life and journey of the late iconic poet Sahir Ludhianvi on the big screen. During a recent event in Mumbai, he said, "No one knows Sahir better than me. The rest of the people who knew him are no longer alive,"

"He was my uncle and father-in-law and he met me with respect and love. I've spent a lot of time with him," Javed says, "Anyone who can play Sahir's role on the big screen better," Javed says.

For details, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is working on a film based on Ludhianavi's life and it is said that Abhishek Bachchan and Tapsi Panu can work together. The famous Singer Mohammed Rafi has a death anniversary on July 31 and Javed Akhtar also spoke about the late Singer during the event. "There was a quality inside Rafi Sir who didn't get as much appreciation as he should have been and I think he was the world's first playback Singer. So far we've seen many Singers, but you can't name a single male singer who has changed her voice according to the actor. Mohammed Rafi was the first Singer to do so.
