Vijayawada: For the first time in the history of South Central Railway, connecting three freight trains was successfully operated from Vijayawada. A total of 176 wagons from Vijayawada Division of Andhra Pradesh were combined into a single train and named as 'Trishul'. The train was operated from Vijayawada to Duvvada, the last station of South Central Railway, on Thursday. Another advantage of running trains in this way is to reduce the blockage in the train's route.

As a result, it increases the operational efficiency of the train. This not only helps to improve average speed but also reduces running time between classes. Trishul train traveled at an average speed of 50 kmph. Officials said that the Trishul train will be very useful for providing faster services to the customers, transporting empty wagons to the loading point in less time and transportation of high demand goods.

Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, South Central Railway, specially congratulated the officers and staff of Vijayawada Railway Division for their hard work in managing the Trishul train. He said that running long distance trains will help the Railways to make better use of rolling stock. "The running of these trains will improve the overall freight handling performance of the zone and is a win-win situation for both railways and freight customers."
