Mumbai: A piece of news of online fraud has come to light in Mumbai the country's financial capital. A 49-year-old woman was duped of Rs 2.4 lakh for buying Diwali sweets here. Police reported this on Tuesday. On Sunday, Pooja Shah, who lives in Andheri, ordered sweets from a food delivery app. Due to this, the transaction failed due to an online payment of Rs 1,000.

Then, the woman called the shop. The person who picked up the phone asked them for their credit card number and OTP number. After this, about 2,40,310 rupees were withdrawn from the woman's account. The woman immediately lodged a complaint with the local police station. Police officials said that after registering a complaint at Oshiwara police station, the action was taken without delay. The police managed to stop the woman's Rs 2,27,205 from being transferred to another account. Further investigation is underway in connection with the said case. No arrest has been made in the case so far.  

In a similar case, a man in Mumbai's Sakinaka area had gone to a mobile repair centre to get his mobile fixed. The employee of the repairing centre had transferred about Rs 2 lakh to his account by breaking the FD amount from the banking app present on his mobile.
