Bhubaneswar: A shocking case has come to light in Odisha's Balasore district. In front of the government hospital here, a herd of dogs was snatching the bodies of the newborn baby in broad daylight. When people passing by the hospital saw this, there was an uproar. People immediately informed the police. After which the police who reached the spot is investigating the case.

The incident happened in front of Balasore District Hospital. Here is the back gate of the hospital near the Siddhivinayak temple. Due to being a temple, there is a lot of congestion on this route. When people were passing through here on Friday, they saw a herd of dogs near the dead bodies of the newborn. Blood was also seeping from the dead bodies, which was scattered all around. Angered by the incident, people immediately informed the police. The police reached there in a short time from the police post built in the hospital premises itself. Police are currently trying to find out whether someone had thrown the dead bodies in front of the hospital gate or the dogs picked up the bodies from the drain coming out near the hospital and brought them to the hospital.

People's anger towards the hospital management has been increasing after the incident came to light. Speaking to the media, Nazia Afreen, a social activist from the area, said it is not a new thing. Earlier also, cases of stray dogs snatching newborns outside the government hospital have been reported. But the question is why no action is taken after such cases come to light. It has been observed that in most cases, newborns are the only ones. The administration is not taking any steps to curb these incidents.
