Mahasamund: Five persons working in a field have died tragically due to lightning in the Mahasamund district of Chhattisgarh. In this case, six women were injured. These women had gone to the farm to do the work of planting. After the incident, all of them were brought to the Community Health Centre at Saraipali, where the injured persons are undergoing treatment.

After the incident, Chhattisgarh Health Minister TS Singhdeo made a video call and spoke to the injured women and the treating doctor and enquired about their movement. Mahasamund Additional Superintendent of Police Akash Rao said that lightning struck the persons working in the field at Ghatkachar under the Singhoda police station of Mahasamund district. After the news of the incident, the officers reached the spot and inspected the matter.

The Additional Superintendent of Police said that five persons died in the incident, while six women were injured. After the incident, all of them have been admitted for treatment at the Saraipali Community Health Centre, where they are being treated.
