Islamabad: Pakistan's Anti-Terrorist Court has issued an arrest warrant against Masood Azhar, the mastermind of the terror attack in Pulwama, Jaish-e-Mohammad (JEM). The Gujranwala Anti-Terrorist Court (ATC) issued a warrant against some members of JEM during the hearing of the Terror Funding Case initiated by the Punjab Police's Anti-Terrorism Department (CTD).

An officer has said that ATC Gujranwala Judge Natasha Nasim Supra has issued an arrest warrant on Thursday for the banned Jaish-e-Mohammed (JEM) Chief Masood Azhar on charges of funding terrorism. The CTD has been directed to arrest him and present him in court. The CTD told the judge that JEM was involved in financing the major terror and that he sells jihadi literature.

He said that on the request of an inspector of CTD, the ATC judge has issued an arrest warrant for Azhar. Azhar is believed to be hiding in a 'safe place' somewhere in his native city Bahawalpur. After the Pulwama terror attack in India in February 2019, the police of Punjab province of Pakistan started a campaign against the financing of terrorism and arrested 6 JEM activists in Gujranwala in this case. Gujranwala is located about 130 km from Lahore.
