Pakistan's (Daewoo Express) and China's (Skywell Automobile) have signed a partnership this year to collaborate to introduce electric vehicles, including public transport, such as electric vehicles. Pakistan's Science and Technology Minister Fawad Chaudhary announced on Twitter that the deal would 'shape the future of public transport in Pakistan.' He also informed that "Electric buses will start plying in Pakistan from this year and in three years these buses will start being fully built in Pakistan."

Under this strategic alliance partnership, Skywell Automobiles and Daewoo Express will help to launch electric buses and other electric vehicles in Pakistan and build a technical support base in the country. Skywell Automobiles will provide its electric buses for the Pakistani market in the first phase and will set up a manufacturing plant for the production of electric vehicles in Pakistan in the second phase.

CEO of Skywell Automobile said in the discussion through a video link that such an agreement between Pakistan and China will help Pakistan's automobile industry to work on modern lines. This will open new avenues for energy based vehicles. He said, "We are trying to promote the new energy vehicles policy in Pakistan. Electric special vehicles and logistics can have a big share in the global markets." "We have seen the BRT buses of Peshawar and now hybrids to electric buses. Above all, its impact on our environment will be very positive," said Deviu's representative, Sheriyar Hussain.
