The Foreign Office of Pakistan has pushed back against foreign criticism regarding the recent elections, asserting that it is an internal matter. Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, the Foreign Office Spokesperson, reiterated Pakistan's commitment to its constitutional duties during a weekly briefing in Islamabad.

Baloch addressed concerns raised by international media regarding Pakistan's electoral process. She emphasized the country's democratic principles, highlighting the massive turnout of voters, including women and young people. Pakistan's decision to welcome foreign observers, including a delegation from the Commonwealth, was cited as evidence of transparency.

In response to India's budget allocation for Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Baloch criticized the move, stating that financial investment doesn't justify illegal occupation. She reaffirmed Pakistan's support for the self-determination of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, as recognized by UN resolutions.

Regarding Pakistan's relationship with India, Baloch expressed Pakistan's desire for peaceful relations but criticized India's hostile approach, which hampers peace efforts.

Additionally, Baloch endorsed the Organization of Islamic Cooperation's condemnation of Israeli aggression in Gaza, calling for urgent UN intervention to impose a ceasefire and alleviate the humanitarian crisis. She reiterated Pakistan's support for the Palestinian people and urged an end to the siege of Gaza.
