Pakistan's Usman Khan is the first horseman who has qualified for the Olympics. However, after this great success, he has made it clear that he is not going to change the name of his horse. Actually there is a dispute over the name of his horse, whose name is Azad Kashmir. On the matter of changing the name of his horse, he has made it clear that this is not a big issue for him and he will not change the name of his horse. According to a report, the Indian Olympic Association is now thinking about taking legal advice in this matter because the political message is going in the name of Usman's horse.

On this matter, Usman Khan has said that this is not really a big issue for me. My mind is clear. The horse was not named in response to the lockout in Indian Kashmir. Usman, 38, said that in April 2019, the name of his horse was registered, which had already happened before the lockout in Kashmir. Usman is well aware that he has given rise to controversies in politically sensitive times. They want to take advantage of this opportunity and want a sponsor for themselves and their horse Azad Kashmir so that they can participate in the Olympics. Usman Khan said that I am currently looking for a sponsor who can bear the expenses of me and my horse Azad Kashmir to participate in the Olympics. At the same time, he said that earlier my horse's name was 'Hair to Stay', but after purchasing it, I renamed it which is not new to me.

I have changed the names of most of the horses in my stables. I had to spend 1000 USD to change its name and it should fit according to the criteria set by international and local bodies. I have named most of my horses on parts of Northern Pakistan. By doing this, I feel that I am connected with my motherland. Usman Khan has further said that I have been putting my resources and money along with hard work for the last 15 years to qualify for the Olympics. It is a matter of great pride for me to represent the country in this big tournament ie Tokyo Olympics and I wanted to do so.
