Ujjain: Panchamrit water offered to Lord Mahakal in Jyotirlinga Mahakaleshwar temple should be available to the devotees after treatment. This intention has been expressed by Mayor Mukesh Tatwal through a letter written to Collector Kumar Purushottam. He has also felt the need to set up a plant to make shipra river water potable in the second phase.

On Thursday, Singapore's water scientist Dr Shailesh Kharkwal presented his plan to make shipra river water potable before Mayor Mukesh Tatwal, Municipal Commissioner Roshan Kumar Singh, Shivendra Tiwari, who was in charge of the Water Works and Sewerage Department. He had said that how 10,000 liters of water can be made potable by spending Rs 11 lakh by setting up a plant. After understanding the action plan, the Mayor wrote a letter to the Collector to implement its implementation.

The Mayor said that a plant can also be set up to treat and reuse the waste water of Sujalam Multi located on Kanipura Road. This water will be used in the trees and plants of the garden. It is written in the letter that Lord Shri Mahakaleshwar is anointed with Panchamrit daily by the devotees and the panchamrit offered is washed away in vain. Keeping in view the good use of panchamrit offered to Lord Shri Mahakaleshwar, it can be considered to treat panchamrit and distribute it among the devotees as prasad. In the upcoming meeting of Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple Management Committee, the Municipal Corporation is required to prepare and implement an action plan (project) in this regard.
