Supreme Court Summons Baba Ramdev in Patanjali Misleading Ads Case:  The Supreme Court has called upon Baba Ramdev to appear in person for the next hearing following his failure to respond to a contempt notice concerning misleading advertisements by Patanjali Ayurved. Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna are believed to have violated Sections 3 and 4 of the Drugs and Remedies Act.

Previously, the apex court had criticized Patanjali Ayurved, stating that the nation had been deceived. It barred the company from advertising or branding products as remedies for diseases until further notice. Justices Hima Kohli and Ahsanuddin Amanullah cautioned the company and its officers against making any statements in the media, whether print or electronic, disparaging any system of medicine, as per their undertaking from November 21 last year.

"The nation has been deceived," remarked the bench, questioning the government about actions taken against Patanjali Ayurved for allegedly making false claims and misrepresenting its medicines as cures for various ailments.
