New Delhi: Paul R. Milgro and Robert B. Wilson have won the Nobel Prize in Economics this year. The Nobel Prize Committee on Monday announced the names of this year's sixth and final prize winners. Milgro and Wilson have been awarded for improving auction theory and exploring new ways of auctioning.
Earlier, the Norwegian Nobel Committee had announced the 2020 Nobel Peace Prize to the World Food Programme (WFP). This organization has been waging a war against hunger all over the world since 1961. This ensures that fundamental power is given to the populations of countries through food security. The Gold Medal, a sum of one crore Swedish krona (approximately Rs 8.27 crore) is awarded under the Nobel Prize.
The Swedish krona is the currency of Sweden. The Nobel Prize is given in the name of Swedish scientist Alfred Nobel. Earlier, this year's Nobel Prize has been announced in several fields including chemistry and physics. US poet Louise Gluck has been conferred with the Nobel Prize for Literature this year.
