New Delhi: The Central Government has amended clinical guidelines for the treatment of corona infected patients. According to the guidelines mentioned in it, doctors should avoid giving steroids to patients and advise them to undergo tuberculosis tests if they have a persistent cough. The guidelines were issued a few days after the task force chief regretted the overdose of drugs due to the second wave. According to the revised guidelines, steroid mucormycosis means can promote catastrophic secondary infections such as black fungus. The mistake of using steroids prematurely or giving a high dose of steroids for a long time can increase this risk. Steroids should be given only on the basis of mild, medium or severe symptoms if required.

In addition, with respiratory problems, if a patient's oxygen saturation is between 90-93 percent, they can be admitted to the hospital. And such cases can be seen as moderate cases. Some patients may also be placed on oxygen support if needed.

A matter should be considered serious only if the respiratory rate exceeds 30 minutes per minute, breathing problems or oxygen saturation in room air is less than 90 percent. If such a problem occurs, the patient will have to be admitted to the ICU, as they will need respiratory support. The facility of non-invasive ventilation (NIV), helmet or face mask interface will depend on availability. Patients with respiratory problems can be given priority.
