International star Priyanka Chopra premiered her regional film Pahuna: The Little Visitors at the Toronto International Film Festival. The film which is made under Priyanka Chopra's production house Purple Pebble Pictures received a standing ovation after its screening.

Following the screening, while talking about the film, PeeCee had said, “This (north-east) is a part of India which does not get seen too much, does not get too many people coming and visiting. But it is a little piece of heaven.. the stories, these kids and the perspectives that you saw when it comes to conversions, when it comes to religion, when it comes to kids being replaced and not knowing their parents and where they are going...it is such a special and important story and I think Paaki told it very well.”

Priyanka in an interview to international channel in Toronto had said, “Sikkim is a small state in the Northeast of India which never had a film industry of its own or anyone who made films from there and this is the first film ever that came out from this region because it is very troubled by insurgency..”

Twitteratis has started slamming Priyanka for her irresponsible statement: “Sikkim and insurgency....!!!??? That sounds nuts #PriyankaChopra Plz get ur facts correct... # Sikkim is such a lovely n peaceful state...”
