ISLAMABAD: The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) recently announced the extension of a ceasefire for an indefinite period in exchange for Islamabad agreeing to release senior Taliban commanders, which has been met with disappointment and anger by families of those killed in various terror attacks by the outlawed group.

The release of all TTP prisoners from Pakistani jails, according to reports, has angered the families of innocent victims of the terror attacks on Army Public School (APS) in Peshawar on December 16, 2014, in which Taliban terrorists killed at least 149 people, including at least 132 school children, teachers, and others in one of Pakistan's most horrific terror attacks in history.

Negotiating with terrorists and satisfying their demands is said to be like pouring salt into their wounds. "It's as though you're rubbing salve on our wounds. This is like laughing at the sacrifices and martyrdom of innocent terrorist victims "Sahibzada Khan, Fazak Khan's eight-year-old son, was killed in the APS terrorist attack.  

Pakistan has been in talks with the TTP for weeks, and both parties have made requests in order to strike a peace accord and ensure that the terror group stops its attacks in the country.
