Mumbai: The government issued guidelines a day earlier for persons playing Holi in Maharashtra. The guidelines issued by the Maharashtra Home Department said that people in the state will have to perform Holika Dahan before 10 pm. Corona infection is not yet completely over, so it will be mandatory to wear social distancing, masks on Holi, the festival of colours. Not only this, at the time of Holika Dahan, playing DJ, having dance programs or gathering of more people will not be allowed. Along with this, on the festival of Holi, the government has also appeared in action regarding the consumption of alcohol. The circular has laid special emphasis on the fact that if anyone creates a ruckus by consuming alcohol on the occasion of Holi or is found behaving in any way of bad behaviour under the influence of alcohol, strict action will be taken against him.

The big points of the guidelines on Holi:-
- The time to play colours in Holi has also been set. Colours can be played on Holi only till 10 pm across Maharashtra.
- Loudspeakers will not be used in view of the 10th and 12th examinations.
- Don't throw paint or water-filled balloons at anyone. At the same time, action will also be taken in the attempt to forcibly bring colour to someone.
- Do not cut trees on Holi. If any person is found doing so, strict action will be taken against him.
- As per the order of the Supreme Court and the High Court, there is no permission of DJs at the time of the Holi festival. If anyone is found using a DJ, legal action will be taken against him.
- Do not make announcements that do not hurt the feelings of any caste or religion in the celebration of Holi. Also, objectionable hoardings/banners should not be put up.
