Petrol, diesel price witness a hike on Monday, check out the price here

New Delhi: The price of petrol and diesel prices increased across major cities of the country on Monday. While petrol became dearer by 8-10 paise a litre while diesel prices went up by 15-16 paise per litre.

According to the Indian Oil Corporation website, Petrol prices rose to Rs 71.12 a litre as against Rs 71.03 on Sunday while diesel price climbed to Rs 66.11 per litre as compared to Rs 65.96 on Sunday in Delhi.  The retail fuel prices in Delhi are the cheapest among all metros and most state capitals due to lower taxes. On Sunday, state-run oil marketing companies kept the retail petrol and diesel prices stagnant across major cities of the country.

Talking about price in Kolkata, it was increased by 8 paise to Rs 73.19 from Rs 73.11 recorded on Sunday. Diesel prices too have increased by 15 paise from yesterday’s rate price of Rs 67.86 a litre. Similarly, in Chennai, petrol is retailing at Rs 73.82, 10 paise higher than Sunday’s rate of Rs 73.72 per litre while diesel price is set at Rs 69.88, 16 paise more than yesterday's price of Rs 69.72 a litre.

BJP Likely to rise in West Bengal and Odisha 

In Mumbai, petrol price reached to Rs 76.73 after a 9 paise hike over Sunday’s rate. A litre of diesel costs Rs 69.27, 16 paise costlier than yesterday’s rate of Rs 69.27.
