Third phase trial of corona vaccine begins, can get good results soon

New Delhi: A third stage medical test of the Covaxin, which is being developed by pharmaceutical firm Bharat Biotak in collaboration with Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), has been released. The Vice-Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has already registered his name as a volunteer. This medical test is scheduled to take up at Jawahar Lal Lehu Medical College and Hospital, university. The vice-chancellor of the university, Professor Tariq Mansur, may encourage others to participate in the trial.

In a tweet, Professor Mansur has released the information and demanded increased engagement with the people. "I have voluntarily registered for the third stage trial of the COVID19 vaccine," he wrote. AMU has entered into an agreement with ICMR and Bharat Biotech to assess and study the impact of Covaxin. I appeal to everyone to register as volunteers for this trial and participate in this grand research to develop better treatment and treatment options," the Junha University spokeswoman said, adding that volunteers undergoing the third stage of the vaccine are going to receive travel expenses and other benefits in accordance with the ICMR guidelines.

It has been revealed that phase 3 of COVAXIN is going to be conducted at 25 centres across the country with a total of 26,000 participants. India's drug controller, Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) has allowed the third phase of trial after the success of the first and second phases of Covaxin. Around 800 participants in 12 hospitals across the country have been tested in the first and second phases. These include hospitals in Delhi, Hyderabad and Lucknow.
