New Delhi:: Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged people to hoist or display the tricolour at homes between August 13 and August 15 to support the Har Ghar Tiranga Movement, saying that doing so will strengthen our connection to the national flag.

PM Modi said on Twitter that July 22 had particular significance in India's history because it was the day in 1947 when the National Flag was adopted. "Let's make the Har Ghar Tiranga Movement stronger this year as we celebrate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. Between August 13 and August 15, hoist the Tricolor or display it in your residences. We shall feel more connected to the national flag thanks to this movement " he added.

He also  provided some fascinating historical nuggets, including information about the committee in charge of our Tricolor and the first Tricolor that Pandit Nehru unfurled.
