New Delhi:  To discuss the government's strategy for Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with senior ministers on Thursday. The meeting attendees include union ministers Rajnath Singh, Anurag Thakur, and Kiren Rijiju.

This development comes as opposition parties persisted in forcing Wednesday's adjournment of the two Houses of Parliament due to their demands regarding the government's introduction of Goods and Service Tax (GST) on some everyday items and price increases.

On the other hand, floor leaders from all opposition parties in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha met on Thursday in Mallikarjun Kharge's office as the LoP for the Rajya Sabha.

Apart from the Congress party, leaders from the following opposition parties were present at the meeting: Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), Communist Party of India (Marxist), Communist Party of India, Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC), Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK), Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), Shiv Sena and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).

The third day of the monsoon session of Parliament saw two adjournments before Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day.

The Rajya Sabha was also adjourned for the day after lunch following an earlier adjournment.
