New Delhi: After the release of the film 'The Kashmir Files', once again discussions have started from place to place regarding the horrific massacre of Kashmiri Pandits. Meanwhile, those names are also coming to the fore, whose hands are stained with the blood of Kashmiri Pandits. Yasin Malik of the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) is one of the killers who confessed to the murder of Kashmiri Pandit on TV, but was still presented as a youth icon by India Today at the 2008 conclave.

It is worth noting that even after all kinds of controversies, Yasin Malik was invited to the India Today Conclave and while introducing him, Anand Mahindra tried to justify his misdeeds. Mahindra had said in that conclave about Yasin that, 'Yasin Malik is the president of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front. This party is secular and separatist, which talks about the independence of Jammu and Kashmir from both India and Pakistan. Malik came into existence as a terrorist from JKLF and also went for terrorist training in Pakistan. Later he surrendered and converted it into a peaceful demonstration. JKLF was initially a terrorist organization, but after 1995, they gave up all forms of violence and went ahead to get their demands in a peaceful manner. Yasin Malik also advocates the return of Kashmiri Pandits to the Valley, who were forced to leave the Valley. Obviously his selection in this panel has been the subject of some controversy as you heard at the beginning of the show. I think we respect this decision where every voice is heard. I think the specialty of democracy is dialogue.

The surprising thing is that when it came to include Yasin Malik in this panel, a large number of Hindus opposed it, but they were not heard and India Today gave Yasin its platform. Let us inform that the trial is currently going on against Yasin Malik on several charges including terror funding. But the murder of Kashmiri Pandits is the case which he himself confessed on TV that he had executed a judge named Neelkanth Ganju because he was about to give death sentence to the JKLF leader. Not only this, Yasin Malik's JKLF is also accused of killing unarmed Indian Air Force personnel. Neelkanth Ganju's grandson Anmol had even publicly demanded the hanging of Yasin Malik in the year 2019. Along with this, he had also questioned the support received by the Manmohan Singh government of Congress for Yasin Malik. In the video shared by Aditya Raj Kaul, you can see former PM Manmohan Singh shaking hands with him.

Let us inform that the Congress, which supports separatists like Yasin Malik, recently blamed the then governor Jagmohan in his tweet for misleading people with the truth shown through The Kashmir Files film and claimed that the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits is his Cause started. However, the reality is that if Jagmohan had not intervened during that period, the number of Hindus probably killed would have been many times higher.
