Lucknow: Even though there is still a year left in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has started the process of strengthening its political equation. The BJP party through the occasion of the birth anniversary of Maharaja Suheldev is eyeing the Rajbhar community of the state. The UP government is laying the foundation stone for the Maharaja Suheldev memorial at Chittaura in Bahraich, in which CM Yogi Adityanath will be present while PM Modi will be involved in it virtually.

The BJP is trying to distinguish Om Prakash Rajbhar's strong vote bank by celebrating Suheldev Jayanti in a grand manner. Since the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP is engaged in helping the Rajbhar community, considered a strong vote bank of Purvanchal. This is the reason that in the year 2016, Amit Shah himself went to Bahraich and unveiled the statue of Maharaj Suheldev. Not only this, he had announced to build a memorial, whose Yogi government is doing Bhoomi Pujan program in Bahraich on Tuesday.

In many districts of Purvanchal, the vote of the Rajbhar community has the power to create and spoil the political equation. Rajbhar community has about 3 percent of the population in UP, but in the districts of Purvanchal, the number of Rajbhar voters is 12 to 22 percent. The Rajbhar community affects the politics on both sides of the Ghagra river.
