 Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep sorrow over his demise, calling him a legendary figure in Tamil cinema and politics.

PM Modi took to social media to share his condolences, stating, "Extremely saddened by the passing away of Thiru Vijayakanth Ji." Modi praised Vijayakanth's charismatic performances that captivated millions and highlighted his dedication to public service, which significantly influenced Tamil Nadu's political landscape. He remembered Vijayakanth as a close friend and expressed his sympathies to the family, fans, and followers.
